Drop Off/Pick Up
New and Returning families alike, please take the time to read through these procedures and study the arrival and dismissal maps. In addition, we kindly ask everyone to remain patient and courteous—safety is our top priority.
For the well-being of all students, please avoid using cell phones or other distractions during drop-off and pick-up. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
~Please be sure to watch carefully while merging into another lane~

Arrival

The north parking lot access is the ONLY entrance to the school. The south access is exit only.

Students enrolled in JCPRD may enter the building through the back door (Door 10) at 7:00.

Only the lane closest to the building is utilized for arrival at the main entrance.

The front doors will open at 7:50 and students will walk directly to the gym. Students eating breakfast will walk directly to the cafeteria.

The back doors will open at 7:50 and Kindergarteners (and any siblings) will walk directly to the gym. Students eating breakfast will walk directly to the cafeteria.

When waiting to drop off your child, stay in a single file car line and pull forward to the farthest possible cone. Please stay in your car. Staff members and Safety Patrol will be outside to help students who may need assistance exiting their vehicles.

Kindergarten families will utilize the middle lane to follow the loop to the back of the school.

Please be courteous and allow families to merge back into the middle lane after their students have been dropped off.

Only bus riders (and pre-arranged families) will be dropped off at Door #2.

Anyone arriving after 8:10 must use the main entrance and will be marked Tardy unless a message has been left on the Attendance Line giving a reason for them being late.

Students walking from the west will walk through the playground area to Door 10 (kindergarten entrance). The perimeter fence will be unlocked until 8:10.

Please do not park and have your child walk through the parking lot

Dismissal

Both of the inside and outside lanes are utilized for dismissal.

1st - 6th Grade students with no kindergarten siblings will be dismissed through the front door. Families will enter in two lanes (the inside and outside lanes), pull forward as far as possible to allow for traffic flow.

Kindergarten students (and siblings) will be dismissed through Door #10. Parents should enter using the outside lane. A staff member will be out assisting traffic, when you pull closer to them, staff will direct you to make a 3rd lane where you will merge to the middle lane in the back of the school. In the back circle drive, pull forward as far as possible to allow for traffic flow.

Center lane should stay clear for vehicles to exit or kindergarten families to drive to the back of the school.

Pull forward in your car as far as possible and students will walk inside the walking zone to reach your vehicle.

Please stay in your car during dismissal. Teachers will be outside to help students.

The parking lot is not to be used during dismissal. This is for bus traffic and pre-arranged situations.

West Walkers will be dismissed using the back playground door; staff will escort walkers to the fence.

All other walkers will be dismissed using north or south entrances; staff will escort them to the crosswalk.

If you are meeting your children, please refrain from standing on the sidewalk next to the circle drive. This area needs to be clear for students and staff to walk

Bike riders must wear helmets and park their bike in the bike rack by the front entrance.

Students will walk their bike on school property.

Dismissal begins at 3:10. Students should be picked up promptly as there is no supervision after 3:30.
